Roar – Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

I’d really been looking forward to riding Roar again for some time and was excited to see what the non-holiday digital frame looked like as well. You can see it to the left, but you almost couldn’t! The worker at the photo booth first gave us a picture without the digital frame and we had to ask for her to redo it so we could properly add it to our collection.

Of course, had we simply been more observant on our earlier trips we would have known all along what the normal digital frame looks like because there are oversized pictures of it posted right on the side of the photo booth as advertising-

I still didn’t manage to get a decent shot of the booth itself, though so that will be added to the agenda for our next visit. Zaira, however, did manage to spot what instantly became our favorite roller coaster picture of all time (right). Somehow this guy managed to fall asleep during the excitement that is Roar (or at least did a pretty darn good job of faking it). You can see this photo for yourself at the Roar ride photo booth, proudly displayed on their counter between the monitors.

Yup I am an assistant supervisor at Marine World’s(Discovery Kingdom) Kodak. and if you are nice and kind to us we will try and make you as happy as possible to make your day with a Kodak photo memorabilia. And if you’re lucky you might receive free photo.
Also sometimes we won’t let our workers put the boarder on roller coaster photographs because sometimes the boarder will block someone in the photo.

Well, Ed, your crew is doing a damn fine job. As you can tell from this blog we visit a lot of ride photo booths and we’ve always received great service from the kind folx at Discovery Kingdom.

Except for the girls staffing the Elephant Encounter booth for some reason. They haven’t been outright rude or anything, but they have given us incorrect information on more than one occasion :(

We’ll be back on Monday 6/23 and I’ll finally be riding Tava (or whatever elephant is available) as well as Zaira, so perhaps they’ll be a little more helpful this time thru.

Quick question for ya – why do you not allow ride photos to be put on MySixFlagsPhoto cards unless they’re purchased at that time as well? Two of the great benefits of ordering souvenir pictures online are destroyed by this policy – 1) don’t have to carry the pics around the park, and 2) I always have more money after my next payday then I do to spend at the park itself.

Sorry I didn’t get back at you, The reason we can’t put pictures on a card unless you purchase them is CORPORATE, UGh. i know it sucks, but the damn company makes us do this. Also sorry about the elephant girls, but I’m not in charge of them that’s the park. The way it works is that Kodak is actually just a vendor and not really part of the park. Hope this helps, and we at Kodak will always try our best to help you guys…unlike the park.
