River Rapids Log Flume – Adventureland, Iowa
The River Rapids Log Flume at Adventureland Park in Altoona, IA must be one of the oldest operating log rides in America as it was built in 1974, although the on-ride photo system wasn’t installed until 2005. A two-drop flume, the photo is taken on the second drop.
Unfortunately, this rather cropped shot is the only one I’ve been able to find from this log flume thus far. The bottom should have the entire Adventureland logo, of course, and Bernie Bernard (Adventureland’s official mascot) should clearly have more than 1/4 of his head visible while he gives riders a thumbs up.
